SAUDAGAR DMDI GLOBAL:
BUILDING THE ECONOMY,
UNITING THE UMMAH
In the pulse of the modern world, business is no longer merely about profit and loss. It has become a bridge of brotherhood—an enduring bond capable of uniting the ummah through shared aspirations. It is within this spirit that Saudagar DMDI Global was born, an economic movement rooted in fraternity and trust. This was conveyed by the Chairman of Saudagar DMDI Global, Dato’ Hajah Joyah Abd Rashid, when receiving DMDI Magazine in Kuala Lumpur.
She explained that in today’s modern business environment, true strength does not lie solely in capital, but in networks and collaboration. “Through the Saudagar project, a competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem is created— a space where we can share risks and ultimately reap greater rewards together,” she said.
The grand vision of Saudagar DMDI Global is to become a platform that unites Malay-Muslim entrepreneurs across the region. Regardless of background, everyone with an entrepreneurial spirit is given the opportunity to step forward. What matters most is determination, commitment, and the courage to strive.
The project began with the idea of developing foundational industries, such as large-scale livestock farming in Malaysia as an initial step. From that starting point, it expanded into the import-export sector, bringing leading agricultural products from Indonesia—such as avocados, virgin coconut oil, and others—to international markets.
Saudagar does not stop there. Another dream is also being shaped—an exclusive café that carries the identity of brotherhood. More than simply a place to enjoy coffee, the café is envisioned as a collaborative space where entrepreneurs gather, connect, and design the future together.
To strengthen its foundation, Saudagar introduced two types of membership: Exclusive and Standard. Both were designed to provide fair value, whether for major industry players or emerging entrepreneurs.
The Exclusive Membership is offered at RM1,000. Through this membership, participants have the opportunity to take part in mega projects such as hotels, infrastructure development, and international import-export ventures. They also receive intensive training and access to networks in more than 23 countries. Like a journey, they travel in business class: comfortable, well-facilitated, and prestigious.
For small and medium entrepreneurs, the Standard Membership is available at RM195. It provides them with the opportunity to build a foundation—guided in marketing, equipped with ideas, and connected with the right individuals for collaboration.
“With these two categories, Saudagar ensures that no one is left behind. Those with substantial capital may participate in large-scale projects, while those starting small are still given the opportunity to climb the ladder of success step by step,” said Dato’ Joyah.
The official launch of the Saudagar DMDI Global Club stands as proof that this platform is not merely a concept, but a living reality. It gathers entrepreneurs, professionals, and Malay-Muslim leaders, carrying the vision of becoming a central reference point for business within the Malay and Islamic world.
Its advantages are clear: access to global opportunities, exclusive membership cards, an integrated e-commerce platform, and strong community support. Beyond that, it brings identity and executive recognition that elevates small entrepreneurs onto the global stage.
Dato’ Joyah is an extraordinary woman. She has nurtured tens of thousands of new entrepreneurs, making her a symbol of success and resilience for Malay women in the world of entrepreneurship.
Confidence in her credibility was further strengthened when Tun Dr. Hj. Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, the Governor of Malacca and President of DMDI, appointed her as the Chairman of Saudagar Melayu DMDI— a platform that is now expanding across 23 member countries.
Born in Kuala Langat, Selangor, Dato’ Joyah experienced many challenges in her early life. Her career began as an executive in multinational companies from Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom, as well as local firms. From there, she gained valuable corporate experience that shaped her into a visionary leader.
Now, she leads La’ Joise Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd., a company that has operated for more than 24 years in the fields of health, beauty, spa services, and skills training. More than 10,000 women have received training from her, many transforming their lives from zero to hero as entrepreneurs.
Yet Dato’ Joyah’s leadership extends beyond business. She also dedicates her energy and time to social work, serving as Chairman of Saudagar Melayu DMDI and Head of DMDI Putrajaya. “I focus particularly on helping single mothers and low-income women,” she said, through skills training programs offered free of charge.
During the official launching ceremony, she delivered words filled with meaning: “Alhamdulillah, with deep gratitude and pride, today we have witnessed the official launch of Saudagar DMDI Global as a platform of brotherhood and international business…”
She emphasized the grand vision of Saudagar DMDI Global—to become a center of economic reference for the ummah, providing access to local, regional, and international markets while strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.
“With the presence of exclusive membership cards, an integrated e-commerce platform, and a strong community network, Saudagar DMDI Global will become a gateway for local entrepreneurs to move further forward,” she added.
Concluding her speech, Dato’ Joyah offered prayers that this initiative would be blessed by Allah SWT, bringing benefit not only to its members but also to society and future generations. Indeed, Saudagar DMDI Global is not merely an organization, but a movement—a struggle to build the economy and unite the ummah.
